Bike Bicycle Bleed Kit Tool for Avid Disc Brake

The Dot Oil Bleed Kit is designed for servicing DOT-based hydraulic disc brakes. It includes a comprehensive set of tools and components to efficiently bleed and maintain your braking system.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use the kit:

1. Begin by verifying that your brake system uses DOT fluid. The Dot Oil Bleed Kit is specifically engineered for DOT-based brakes, not for those requiring mineral oil.

2. Using the appropriate tools, remove the caliper bleed port screw from the caliper body.

3. Fill one of the syringes provided in the kit approximately halfway with DOT fluid. Make sure to de-gas the fluid by expelling any air bubbles.

4. Ensure the fluid in the syringe is pushed all the way to the tip, then thread the syringe into the caliper bleed port.

5. Next, remove the lever bleed port screw using the tools. Thread the second syringe into the lever bleed port.

6. Gently push on the caliper syringe plunger to transfer fluid from the caliper syringe into the lever syringe until the lever syringe is a quarter full and the caliper syringe is a quarter empty.

7. Close the syringe clamp on the lever.

8. Pull out on the caliper syringe plunger, then gently push it back in. Repeat this process until large bubbles stop coming out of the caliper. Once the fluid is free of bubbles, close the clamp on the caliper syringe and remove it.

9. Wipe off any excess DOT fluid from the brake lever and caliper. Reinstall the brake pads and spreader clip.

The Dot Oil Bleed Kit is compatible with a wide range of hydraulic disc brake systems, including Avid, SRAM, HAYES, Formula, BNGAL, HOPE, and QUAD. It provides the necessary tools and components to effectively bleed and maintain your brakes, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

For SRAM brake models, the kit is suitable for the Guide R, RS, RSC, Guide T, Guide Ultimate, Code R, Code RSC, Level TLM, and Level Ultimate. It also works with SRAM's RED eTap HRD Shift-Brake Control system.
